Embraer 190


Embraer, a Empresa Brasileira de Aeronaútica, é unha compañía brasileira fabricante de avións. Fundouse en 1969 e é a terceira produtora de avións do mundo, comerciais e militares, tras Boeing e Airbus.


Fabricou o seu primeiro avión en 1968 (o Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante), foi privatizada en 1994 e actualmente emprega a 18.223 persoas. Ten a súa sede en São José dos Campos, no interior do estado de São Paulo.

Fundación |


A creación dunha construtora aeronáutica brasileira foi estudada polo goberno de Brasil durante os anos 40 como parte do plan para impulsar o desenvolvemento tecnolóxico do país, que se asentaría sobre tres entidades: o Mando Xeral para a Tecnoloxía Aeroespacial (CTA), o Instituto de Tecnoloxía Aeronáutica e Embraer.


O primeiro paso para o desenvolvemento da industria aeronáutica brasileira estaba na creación do IPD (Instituto de Pesquisas e Desenvolvimento), actual IAE (Instituto Aeronáutico e Espacial) e fundado dentro do CTA o 1 de xaneiro de 1954. Nos anos seguintes, o IPD desenvolveu varios proxectos, tales como o helicóptero Beija-Flor. Aínda que estes non tiveron repercusión comercial, foron vitais para o avance da industria aeronáutica do país.


O cambio máis importante tivo lugar o 29 de marzo de 1965, cando o IPD recibiu unha proposta para deseñar un biplano turbohélice. O proxecto adquiriu unha escala maior e acabou converténdose no IPD-6504, ou Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante, que voou por primeira vez o 26 de outubro de 1968. O IPD quería que o 6504 fose producido en serie, pero a falta de interese por parte das construtoras privadas impediuno, facendo evidente a necesidade de fundar unha construtora de propiedade estatal.

Finalmente, o 29 de xullo de 1969, o Ministerio de Aeronáutica creou Embraer. Naquel momento a compañía contaba cuns 500 empregados, incluíndo aos enxeñeiros procedentes do CTA e do ITA, e planeábase construír dous Bandeirante ao mes. O enxeñeiro Ozires Silva, membro do equipo que creou o Bandeirante, converteuse no presidente da nova compañía.



Crecemento e expansión |


As tres primeiras series do Bandeirante foron entregadas en febreiro de 1973 á Forza Aérea Brasileira. No mesmo mes, Transbrasil mercou o primeiro Bandeirante para uso comercial, que voou por primeira vez o 16 de abril dese ano. As exportacións comezaron en 1975, e o proxecto Bandeirante resultou ser un grande éxito no mercado internacional da aviación, eclipsando a outros avións de prestacións semellantes. En total vendéronse unhas 500 unidades, exportándose a 36 países diferentes.


O Ministerio de Aeronáutica de Brasil fixo grandes esforzos para contribuír ao crecemento de Embraer. Dous proxectos existentes, o planeador Urupema e o fumigador EMB-202 Ipanema, foron transferidos á nova empresa. Ademais aceptaron un encargo para montar 122 avións de adestramento Aermacchi MB-326 (posteriormente chamados Xavante). O Ipanema segue producíndose con máis de 1.000 unidades vendidas, mentres que o Xavante foi fabricado durante 11 anos, con 186 unidades vendidas.


En agosto de 1974 Embraer estableceu un consorcio con Piper Aircraft para fabricar algúns tipos de aeronaves baixo licenza, incluíndo os modelos PA-28 Cherokee, PA-34 Seneca e PA-31 Navajo. Estes avións recibiron respectivamente os nomes de EMB-712 Tupi, EMB-810D Seneca e EMB-820C Navajo. Todos estes produtos, xunto ao Ipanema, foron transferidos á subsidiaria Industria Aeronáutica Neiva en marzo de 1980.


O 22 de outubro de 1975 realizou o seu voo inaugural o primeiro avión de cabina presurizada da empresa, o EMB-121 Xingu. Este avión era máis pequeno que o Bandeirante, de xeito que non se converteu no seu sucesor; construíronse uns pocas ducias de Xingus, das cales a meirande parte foron entregados á Forza Aérea Francesa en 1981. Por orde do Ministerio de Aeronáutica, Embraer desenvolveu o seu primeiro avión de combate, o Tucano, que realizou o seu voo de estrea o 16 de decembro de 1980. Este avión converteríase no turbohélice de adestramento militar máis construído, vendendo máis de 650 unidades vendidas en todo o mundo.


O desenvolvemento dun avión rexional capaz de substituír ao Bandeirante comezou a finais dos 70. Este proxecto consistía nun turbohélice con capacidade para 30-40 pasaxeiros, o EMB-120 Brasilia, certificado para voar en maio de 1985. A diferenza do Bandeirante, o Brasilia comenzou como produto para a exportación, entrando en servizo coa aeroliña estadounidense Atlantic Southeast Airlines. Isto foi resultado da confianza gañado por Embraer no mercado internacional co seu primeiro avión.Oficialmente a produción do Brasilia rematou en 2002 con 350 unidades vendidas; porén, o avión continua fabricándose baixo demanda.


En xullo de 1981 Embraer uníuse ao Programa Internacional AMX , co obxectivo de fabricar un avión subsónico de combate. Xunto con Aeritalia (actualmente dividida en Alenia Aeronautica e Aermacchi), Embraer traballou no desenvolvemento do caza AMX, que serviría para substituír as vellas frotas militares de Italia e Brasil. O primeiro AMX brasileiro realizou o seu voo inaugural o 16 de outubro de 1985. Este proxecto permitíulle a Embraer acceder a novas tecnoloxías que serían cruciais nos proxectos seguintes.



A crise dos 90 |


O seguinte proxecto comercial consistía nun avión turbohélice con capacidade para 19 pasaxeiros desenvolvido en asociación con FMA (actual Fábrica Argentina de Aviones - Fadea), o CBA 123 Vector, que voou or vez primeira o 30 de xullo de 1990. Aínda que incluíu algunhas das tecnoloxías más avanzadas do momento, o Vector non foi aceptado polo mercado a causa do seu alto prezo, e o proxecto foi cancelado sen que se vendese ningunha unidade.


A finais dos 80, os investimentos gobernamentais na industria aerospacial reducíronse, debido á aprobación da Constitución de 1988 que anulaba calquera tipo de axuda oficial á industria e á crecente falta de interese na área de defensa tras o fin da guerra fría. Estes feitos unidos ao fracaso do proxecto Vector e á crise na aviación provocada pola escalada do prezo do petróleo en 1990, fixo caer a Embraer nunha profunda crise financeira. Realizáronse importantes recortes de gastos ata 1994, e dos 12.600 empregados que había en 1990, só permaneceron 3.200. Pese a todos estes sucesos, os enxeñeiros de Embraer centráronse nun novo proxecto, un avión rexional de motores turboventilador para 45 pasaxeiros, o ERJ 145.



Privatización e recuperación |


O 7 de decembro de 1994 Embraer foi privatizada e Maurício Botelho, antigo director xeral de Bozano Group, foi nomeado presidente. As habilidades de Botelho como home de negocios contribuíron positivamente á recuperación da compañía. Os consorcios con outras compañías aseguraron investimentos suficientes para o desenvolvemento do ERJ 145. As excepcionais vendas do novo avión rexional permitiu a Embraer recuperarse e volver á súa posición como unha das maiores construtoras aeronáuticas do mundo. Máis de 900 ERJ 145 e os seus derivados comerciais, executivos e militares foron entregados ata principios de 2006.


O seguinte modelo en ser desenvolvido foi un moderno avión militar de adestramento e ataque lixeiro, o Embraer 314 Super Tucano ou ALX, que voou por vez primeira o 2 de xuño de 1999. Este avión foi orixinalmente vendido á Forza Aérea Brasileña e á Forza Aérea Colombiana, e principalmente utilízase na rexión amazónica.




Embraer 195 de Air Europa


En xullo de 1999 Embraer anunciou o desenvolvemento dunha nova familia de avións: os Embraer E-Jets, que comprenderían os Embraer 170, 175, 190 e 195. Con esta decisión, Embraer avanzou cara o mercado dos aparatos de entre 70 e 110 prazas. O voo inaugural do primeiro modelo, o Embraer 170, tivo lugar o 19 de febreiro de 2002.


Embraer tamén buscou aumentar a súa presenza no mercado dos avións executivos con distintos modelos de varios tamaños: o Lineage 1000, o Legacy 600, o Phenom 100 e o Phenom 300. Na parte de defensa, Embraer desenvolveu sistemas para misións terrestres e aéreas, tendo por clientes principais ás Forzas Armadas de Brasil, México, Grecia e India.
