Os vespertiliónidos (Vespertilionidae) son unha familia de morcegos, habitantes principalmente das zonas temperadas do planeta.


É a familia máis diversificada de morcegos, distribúense por toda clase de hábitats, desde tropicais até desérticos. O seu tamaño varía entre os 3 e 10 cm e de 4 a 50 g de peso, ollos pequenos e folla nasal ausente; orellas moi longas nalgúns xéneros, como Plecotus e Histiotus; trago usualmente presente.[1]


De 28 a 38 dentes e coa fórmula dentaria 1−2.1.1−3.32−3.1.2−3.3displaystyle frac 1-2.1.1-3.32-3.1.2-3.3, en especies con poucos dentes faltan os premolares, maioritariamente insectívoros, a excepción de Myotis vivesi e Antrozous pallidus, que consomen peixes e escorpións respectivamente.


Os vespertiliónidos aniñan en covas e outros refuxios. Segundo a especie, poden ser solitarios ou gregarios; as especies de zonas temperadas poden emigrar ou hibernar.
