Sierra Leones flagg ble offisielt tatt i bruk 27. april 1961. Flagget er en trikolor i fargene grønt, hvitt og blått. Det grønne står for jordbruk, fjell og landets naturressurser. Det blå symboliserer håpet om at den naturlige havnen i Freetown vil bidra til fred i verden. Det hvite symboliserer enhet og rettferdighet.


Fargene i flagget er de samme som går igjen i Sierra Leones riksvåpen.
