O ultraísmo é unha vangarda poética xurdida en Madrid en 1918, que tiña como principal propósito sintetizar todas as tendencias da vangarda mundial co mesmo desexo de ruptura e anhelo de novidade.

Os poetas ultraístas buscaron:


  • Sobrevaloración da imaxe e da metáfora, converténdose en moitas ocasións en múltiples (varias incluídas nunha soa).

  • Innovación na tipografía: uso de espazos en branco e ausencia de signos de puntuación.

  • Supresión da rima e incluso do ritmo.
