เซอร์ริดลีย์ สก็อตต์ (อังกฤษ: Ridley Scott) เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 30 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2480 ในประเทศอังกฤษ เป็นผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์
ริดลีย์ สก็อตต์ เรียนจบด้านออกแบบกราฟิก เริ่มต้นด้วยการเป็นฝ่ายออกแบบฉากที่บีบีซี และมาทำละครซีรีส์ หลังจากนั้นลาออกมากำกับโฆษณาและข้ามมาอเมริกา โดยกำกับภาพยนตร์เรื่องแรกคือเรื่อง The Duellists หลังจากนั้นก็มีผลงานอยาง Alien, Blade Runner, Legend, Black Rain, Thelma & Louise, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Matchstick Men, Kingdom of Heaven และ American Gangster[1]
ริดลีย์ สก็อตต์เป็นพี่ชายของโทนี่ สก็อตต์ ผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ และในปี พ.ศ. 2538 ได้ร่วมกันก่อตั้งบริษัท Scott Free Productions [2] ซึ่งอำนวยการสร้างภาพยนตร์และละครชุดทางโทรทัศน์
ริดลีย์ สก็อตต์ ได้รับพระราชทานบรรดาศักดิ์อัศวิน (Knighthood) จากสมเด็จพระราชินี ณ พระราชวังบักกิงแฮม เมื่อวันที่ 8 กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. 2546 โดยเปลี่ยนคำนำหน้าชื่อเป็น เซอร์ (Sir) จากคุณูปการที่มีแก่อุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์ของอังกฤษ ขณะมีอายุ 65 ปี[3]
ในฐานะผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ ริดลีย์ สก็อตต์ เคยเข้าชิงรางวัลออสการ์ 3 ครั้งในสาขาผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม จากภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Thelma & Louise ในปี พ.ศ. 2535 เรื่อง Gladiator ในปี พ.ศ. 2543 และเรื่อง Black Hawk Down ในปี พ.ศ. 2544 และเข้าชิงรางวัลลูกโลกทองคำ 2 ครั้งในสาขาผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม จากภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Gladiator ในปี พ.ศ. 2543 และเรื่อง American Gangster ในปี พ.ศ. 2551 [4]
