Ordes é un concello da provincia da Coruña, pertencente á comarca de Ordes. Segundo o IGE en 2014 tiña 12.844 habitantes (12.868 no 2010, 12.294 no 2006, 12.272 no 2005, 12.287 no 2004, 12.266 en 2003). O seu xentilicio (véxase no Galizionario) é «ordense».

Xeografía |


Ordes atópase nunha chaira a medio camiño entre Compostela e A Coruña. A altura sobre o nivel do mar oscila entre os 461 m nos montes do sur e os 450 m no norte e neste sentido flúen os cursos de auga, que desembocan case todos no río Tambre. O máis importante é o río Lengüelle, que baixa polo oeste marcando o límite co concello de Tordoia. Os regatos da parroquia de Ardemil desembocan no río Barcés. O terreo está formado por unha unidade xeolóxica de xistos denominada Xistos de Ordes.


O concello ocupa 157 km² e un terzo da poboación reside na capital, Ordes. Está atravesado pola N-550, a AP-9 e polo ferrocarril entre A Coruña e Compostela.


As precipitacións son abondosas e superan os 1.500 mm anuais. A temperatura media é de 13 °C, se ben xea todo o ano excepto no verán. Boa parte do territorio está ocupado por lameiros e bosques de eucaliptos.



Mancomunidade de Ordes |


Ordes é a capital da Mancomunidade de Ordes, composta tamén polos concellos de Trazo, Tordoia, Cerceda, Mesía, Frades e Oroso, cun total de 39.004 habitantes.



Historia |


Da época castrexa destacan o castro de Ceidón e o castro de Gosende nas proximidades do núcleo urbano, posuíndo todo o concello unha alta cantidade deste tipo de sitios arqueolóxicos.


Durante a Idade Media fixo parte do condado de Trastámara, e posteriormente dividiuse entre a xurisdición de Folgoso, do conde de Altamira, o couto de Faramilláns e as xurisdicións de Gorgullos e Montaos. Montaos foi doado por Afonso VII á catedral de Santiago de Compostela en 1124.


En 1544 Filipe II, de camiño a Compostela, fixo noite na Calle, na parroquia de Poulo, feito do que deixa constancia unha inscrición no lintel da porta.


O xeneral Juan Díaz Porlier tamén pasou a noite en Ordes, onde foi feito prisioneiro. Durante a guerra civil de 1833 producíronse enfrontamentos entre liberais e absolutistas e en 1846 pasou Miguel Solís coas tropas do Exército Libertador de Galicia.


Entre 1878 e 1880 editouse en Ordes o semanario El Fomento.

Economía |


Durante a década de 1960 produciuse unha emigración cara ás cidades máis próximas e cara a Europa, que freou na década de 1970. Na actualidade, un cuarto da poboación adícase ao sector primario (especialmente gando bovino para o sector lácteo).


No que se refire ó sector secundario ou industrial, destaca o sector téxtil e a construción. Segundo a web do Concello de Ordes, en 2011 había rexistradas 21 empresas adicadas á produción téxtil.


O sector terciario concéntrase na capital do concello e destacan empresas de comercio polo miúdo que dan servizo non só a Ordes senón tamén ós Concellos da Mancomunidade de Ordes, cun sector comercial máis reducido.



Feiras |


  • Feira semanal (ten lugar tódolos mércores) que ten lugar a entre a Rúa do Muíño e a Rúa da Feira, zona máis coñecida como o Campo da Feira.

  • Feira Multisectorial Expofegasa. Están representados distintos sectores (téxtil, agrícola queixo). Ten carácter anual e sempre coincide coa Festa do Champiñón.

  • Feira de Cans no Mesón do Vento. É unha feira de carácter anual de cans de caza.

Festas gastronómicas |



  • Festa do champiñón. Ten lugar en Ordes, xeralmente a última fin de semana de abril. Vense celebrando dende 1989 e coincide no tempo coa Feira Multisectorial Expofegasa.


  • Festa do lacón. Ten lugar no Mesón do Vento.


Deportes |


En Ordes, de forma federada pódense practicar diversos deportes como o fútbol, fútbol sala, hóckey a patíns, tenis de mesa ou pádel. A pesar de non haber ningún club de tríatlon, é salientable que o triatleta ordense Iván Raña chegou a ser campión do mundo. Foi o primeiro triatleta galego en conseguir un campionato do mundo da especialidade, o primeiro en vencer nunha proba da Copa do Mundo e en participar nuns Xogos Olímpicos.
