ז'אן די בלה


ז'אן די בלה (בצרפתית: Jean du Bellay; בערך 1493 - 16 בפברואר 1560) היה קרדינל ודיפלומט צרפתי.


ז'אן די בלה היה בנם השלישי של לואי די בלה ושל מרגריט דה לה טור-לאנדרי, ואחיהם של מרטן די בלה ושל גיום די בלה. הוא נהנה מתמיכתו של פרנסואה הראשון, מלך צרפת שמינה אותו לשגריר באנגליה ב-1527. ב-1534 התמנה לשגריר ברומא וב-1535 התמנה לקרדינל על ידי האפיפיור פאולוס השלישי.


ב-1536 השתתף במועצת קרדינלים שבה קרל החמישי, קיסר האימפריה הרומית הקדושה, הביע את זעמו על פרנסואה הראשון. די בלה מיהר להודיע זאת למלכו כדי להתכונן לעמוד בפני כוחותיו של קרל החמישי, שפלש לפרובאנס בראש צבא גדול. פרנסואה הראשון יצא לקראתו בראש צבאו והשאיר בפריז את די בלה בתפקיד סגן המפקד הראשי של צבא צרפת.


הספרדים הטילו מצור על העיר פרון שבחבל פיקרדיה והקרדינל די בלה שלח עזרה לנצורים והרגיע את אנשי פריז על ידי הקמת חומה מבוצרת סביב העיר.


ב-1541 הוא התמנה על ידי פרנסואה הראשון לבישוף העיר לימוז', ב-1544 - לארכיבישוף של בורדו, וב-1546 - לבישוף העיר לה מאן. אך ב-1547 נושל ממעמדו הרם בגלל קנוניה של הקרדינל מלורן. אחרי שלוש שנים שקטות של פרישה בצרפת (1550–1553), הוטלה עליו שליחות אל האפיפיור יוליוס השלישי, והוא לקח אתו כמזכירו את בן דודו, המשורר ז'ואקן די בלה. ב-1555 התמנה לבישוף אוסטיה, תפקיד שבו שימש כראש מועצת הקרדינלים.


די בלה מת ברומא ב-1560.


די בלה צידד ביחס של סובלנות כלפי הפרוטסטנטים. הוא הקדיש את זמנו לקידום החינוך והמדע, וביחד עם המדען גיום בידה, הציע למלך לייסד את הקולז' דה פראנס. הסופר פרנסואה רבלה היה ידידו, רופאו ומזכירו הפרטי. די בלה כתב שלושה ספרי שירה בלטינית ומספר חיבורים אחרים. התכתבותו הענפה ציורית ומלאת השראה.
